So Noted Singers is a vibrant new mixed choir rehearsing in St Albert under the direction of longtime local conductor Criselda Mierau. Once you’ve been to one of their shows, you’ll be hooked. Is it a choir concert? Is it a play with choral music helping to tell the tale? Is it a unique immersive experience complete with surprise elements that leave you wanting more? YES – it’s all of these and so much more.
So Noted Singers takes experienced, dedicated singers, and develops something innovative and entertaining each time the group steps upon the stage. The Singers tackle a wide variety of musical genres and styles, which they always deliver with skill and flair. From beautiful tunes to thoughtful themes to full on laugh out loud lines, their shows transport you and leave you humming and happy. But don’t just take our word for it – come and find out for yourself!
Forte Plus is an afternoon drop in choir that meets Wednesdays at 2:00 PM.
Red Willow Community Church, 15 Corriveau Avenue, St. Albert
We’ll be starting up again on January 8th!
Our afternoon seniors drop-in choir Forte Plus which presented an amazing version of Fiddler on The Roof in April, and worked with Seniors Acting Out Together to present their take on A Christmas Carol.
Last year this group managed to raise over $600 for the local community food bank, and this Christmas raised $535!
Cleopatra is a choir for experienced women singers to raise their voices together in a variety of choral genres starting with some swing music in the fall.
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, starting at 6:30 PM at St. Albert Catholic High School, access via 20 Malmo Place and continue west.
We came out “swinging” with a few Christmas songs presented at the So Noted Singers show (December 6 and 7).
Now we’re working on a Speakeasy event we’re calling Walk Like An Egyptian, filled with swing music on February 15!
This women’s choir has chosen to support the Jessica Martel Foundation this year.

Join us on Monday nights with So Noted! All voice parts are welcome to apply, although priority is given to experienced men’s voices for blend. Two trial rehearsals allow you to come and try us on for size. This choir will feature focused rehearsals, performances, rehearsal recordings, possible tours, unique opportunities from solos to small groups and widely-varied choral material.
FORTE PLUS:
Join us on Wednesday afternoons for casual choral singing offering a variety of genres and styles as a no-commitment drop-in opportunity. These one-hour afternoon sessions will also explore local performance options. Come and join Forte Plus for an hour of singing some new, some old and some completely unexpected songs and workshop experiences. Discover more about your own voice and how it blends with others, all while exploring various genres and styles. No experience necessary.
CLEOPATRA:
Our new women’s ensemble started with a ‘swing-y’ appearance at So Noted’s Christmas show, but will do our own thing in February with a Speakeasy performance!

NOTEWORTHY THOUGHTS from Criselda
Criselda’s Noteworthy Thoughts for February 2025
Love is in the air! OR at least, that’s what our consumer driven world would like us to believe since the whole Valentine’s Day was
me, my dad and dementia #12: hey mikey, he likes it!
A small miracle happened the other day. My father came over to “talk to me about the music for this term”. I was worried but
Past Events
Why did I join choir almost 14 years ago? Simply put, I wanted to heal.
I loved singing in my mom’s choirs as a child, but I fell away from it during my teenage and young adult years. Finding music again with Criselda has made such a difference in my life physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually. I love the music, the harmonies, the community and especially performing! Being part of something that brings musical joy into the world is truly a gift – one that everyone should experience!
One memory that stands out for me. My very first performance at the Arden and being so excited to see my mom afterwards. I wanted her to be proud of me. And she was thrilled.
