‘Tis the season! And now the concerts, the gift buying, the carol singing, the cookie baking and the snow are flying thick and fast.
I love the strange dichotomy of the Christmas season. We move forward at a fast and furious pace while allowing ourselves to pause and reflect on joy and hope. For me, this works very well. This is how we live our lives afterall.
And for those of you (audience and singers alike) who have experienced and allowed choral music into your life, you are now part of an amazing club that includes peoples of all walks of life. Raising voices together in song opens minds, is completely inclusive, and perpetually brings hope no matter the style or genre or even the lyric. There’s no way around it.
We celebrate life, death, emotions, thoughts and experiences with music.
So Noted Singers are giving us a stunning song called Carol Of The Birds at their show. And that takes me to Oliver Herford’s quote:
