Love is in the air. Yes, yes, the commerically driven kind of course this month, but what if we are able to see more love? Love for our earth. Love for our air. Love for people in other parts of the world. Love for our queer community. Love for immigrants. Love for the marginalized. Love for art. Love for music.
And maybe while we contemplate what we love, we should consider what we will not show any love for…. Intolerance, racial profiling, injustice, contamination of water sources, poverty, those who rise on the backs of the others, hurtful comments, inability to accept others, barriers to true harmony.
Why do we show love, but not show our displeasure at and our outright condemnation of that which is wrong? Wouldn’t that be the ultimate way to show our love? To point loudly to what is not love?!
