Criselda’s Noteworthy Thoughts for December 2024

As we rush headlong towards Christmas, towards more joy, towards presents, towards more human interaction and towards more concerts/shows, we should probably stop and consider Christmas a little.

Shall we, like Dickens suggested, honor it in our hearts and keep it all year round? Yes!
Should we see it as a time to do something extra for others? Absolutely!
Maybe we can view it as a state of mind? Yup, for sure!

We now race (haha) towards our Amazing Race show which is unique – in that it is NOT specifically about Christmas but takes place at Christmas, yet the so-called spirit of Christmas and the core of Christmas looms large over it. Plus, we get to sing a ton of fabulous Christmas and other songs and tell a fun, unexpected and uplifting tale to boot!

This show is about hope. Not love, not charity and not faith. Simple hope. That doesn’t mean we should discount love, charity and faith. I’m simply suggesting that hope deserves a second look. Hope, perhaps, is what makes us human. Beautifully human! Hope is what we all have in common. I am sure of it. And hope is inextricably linked to love, charity and faith.

The quantity of hope does not matter. Small or large. The idea of hope is what matters. Let us cling large to that this holiday season. Let us see it in every concert we go to and in every purchase we make and every time we venture out on the slippery roads with so many others.

“perhaps the hope associated with Christmas, can hold all of time and all people together”
