Apparently, you can eat a sandwich for breakfast and porridge for lunch. And really, why not?
Also, you can put dried cranberry raisins on piece of bread with some butter and call it lunch.
And, peanut butter with jalapeno jelly is now a sandwich that you may never have heard of but my Dad seems to like it.
I think he’s adding strawberry yogurt to his coffee too which seems kinda icky to me but he seems to not care so I guess it’s okay…???
But if you put a half a pie in his fridge…..it will be gone by the end of the day. So while this is a great plan for leftovers that you want to get rid of quickly, it’s not such a great plan for his waist line. (we’re doling out the Christmas fruit cake with great care)
We think he ate all his marzipan bar, a full chocolate bar and 6 wrapped large chocolates with kirsch in one day. In his defence, they were all in his stocking so we blame Santa. (we’re doling out the Baileys with great care)
You can eat almost a full banana at 10:30 at night, then rewrap it in the peel and put the last tiny bite back in the fridge for a later date….a much later date….and now, it’s food for our worms. So, that’s a win, I guess.
Finally, we’ve discovered that our table looks mighty weird when we serve a big meal with a lot of variety of dishes. All food must end up far away from Dad and there’s a big empty space around him so he can’t reach anything. Yup. It’s the only way to stop him from literally eating everything he can see and reach. We’re on it!
