WOW! Audiences (sold out both times) loved it all! Very nice. My Dad wondered both times, what we were doing prior to us heading out. He really wanted to bring both his binders (from both choirs) since he felt so unsure but I persuaded him both times to just take the “wed aft” binder.
He read well. He sang pretty decently….maybe only missing a few moments here and there in a few songs. (which for the rest of us, is “singing well” but not for Dad of course)
He was extremely tired on the following days which was unfortunate since we had “mon night” choir to get to. Of course, he did insist on moving seven hundred chairs (slight exaggeration) on the first set up for Forte Plus so no wonder he was tired the next day!
His grandson was in town and while Dad may have referred to him as his “cousin” once, he was thrilled to have him here. Very nice. Tonight, they will stand shoulder to shoulder and sing together at the rehearsal. My husband on one side of Dad and my nephew on the other side. love it.
My Dad typically eschews naps. But on Monday afternoon, I found him zonked out on his daybed. He immediately leapt to his feet, glasses falling off his face and declared “I wasn’t sleeping. Just relaxing.” Come on Dad. You were definitely sleeping.
I think he enjoyed the Monday night rehearsal. He sang at least 90% of it!
We said goodbye to my nephew on Tuesday night and headed to the pop-up choir learning Bohemian Rhapsody together. Dad did well!
Now we wait for my uncle (my Dad’s half brother) to come from Winnipeg for the So Noted shows! We’re on a countdown of “how many sleeps left” for Dad’s white board.
