He’s improved….markedly so…..in many areas to boot….
He is showering regularly
He now cooks his steel cut oats and makes his instant coffee without help
He is regularly taking his morning vitamins without reminders
His balance is better
He is more aware generally speaking
But he is also bored and looking for things to occupy his time. This happens every summer after we return from our holidays. Our holidays are consumed by doing things together every single day and eating all meals together and hanging out together every single evening. So when we get home, Dad is always a bit lonely and bored. He’s doing his word search, listening to music, watching the Blue Jays and his helper is back to the regular routine. And I gave him a binder of the Forte Plus music.
He said he would love to come all 8 Perils shows for two reasons:
-he really likes the show and somewhat remembers it from June
-it gives him something to do and a way to get out and about
Not bad!
(a little “aside” from last week’s post….we asked our case worker point blank and three times in a row: “So, he will never receive more care hours?” No. “So then he will never be put on a wait list for a long term care facility?” No. x3…we asked 3 times since we were so shocked and received the same answer each time)
