What a hit with my father! I think he would have loved to have somehow been up there with the cast singing at least one of the G & S songs. We brought him to 3 of the 8 shows (we’ll bring him to one more yet) and just made sure his helper was home with him for the rest of them. I probably could have brought him to all of the shows but I didn’t want to tire him out.
He was listening to the rehearsal CD of the So Noted most recent spring show the other day and I thought to myself….um, how did he think to look for the CD and how did he remember how to use the CD player and how did he even remember he had a CD player? In other words, he is still on an upswing! And we will so happily take it.
Of course, I do have my guilt. I’m really very good at guilt. I have not spent as much time with him as I should have (Perils) and will continue to be ultra busy until all the choirs are in full swing. And even then, this term is always a lot busier than the spring term. Plus, my daughter is about to mount an incredible Halloween show with a cast pulled from our choirs! I’m helping a little….’cause…me.
Oh yeah and my emergency wisdom tooth extraction meant that I’ve pretty much stopped cooking and we just give Dad frozen dinners…..more guilt. But, he really likes them so maybe we’re golden!
